Manna Ministry
A couple of years ago we started a wonderful partnership with Calvary First baptist Church in San Souci. We love these brothers and sisters and have gotten to do a few great events together.
One thing we’re particularly excited about is their hard work in providing food for those in need in the San Souci and Poe Mill area. Calvary calls this effort “Mana Ministry.” They’re open every Tuesday from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. Mana Ministry operates out of Calvarys youth building, the Barracks. They have a huge, commercial refrigerator that is stocked with food each week by Loaves and Fishes and other local churches.
If you’re interested in volunteering with Mana there are a couple of things you can do. One is to bring food to Mana Ministry at 8:30 on Tuesday mornings. They’re always looking for fresh fruits and vegetables, eggs, or any any kind of meat.
Another opportunity is to simply have conversations with people while they’re waiting in the line that usually wraps around the building. Everyone is very open to talking and even praying together. It’s an excellent opportunity to be a part of the community and show some love.
We’d love to help you get involved. Just let us know when you’re ready to jump in.
